About Us

The Boathouse Gallery’ was originally built as a Steam Bakery in 1906, it was used as a boathouse from the early 1960’s to the late 1980’s.

The property is owned by local residents Gerard and Elizabeth Timmons and has been in Gerard’s family for over 50 years. This is the first time the space has been used for artistic purposes. The high ceilings and natural light make it an ideal venue for viewing works of art.

The Gallery is very much a family run business. Elizabeth's mother Eileen, Gerard & Elizabeth's daughter Susan, and Gerard's sister Carmel all lend a helping hand.

Since our official opening on Friday 21st May 2010, we have built up a unique collection of contemporary Irish Art, Ceramics, Jewellery & more. In the run up to the opening of the gallery, we were delighted to discover that numerous artists were extremely keen to avail of the opportunity to showcase their work in the picturesque town of Kinsale, which is a already a mecca for Irish and International culture lovers.

Here at The Boathouse Gallery we have a wide range of art and feature a variety of Irish artists, many of which live locally in Kinsale. We regularly exhibit new work and feature various artists in our window display.

We hope you enjoy your visit to
The Boathouse Gallery, Kinsale.
