In 1997 she graduated with a diploma in Presentation Design from Sainte-Foy College, where she had her first formal introduction to art theory.

Throughout her life she has held various employment involving theatre prop design and construction, arts & crafts classes and managing her own presentation design company. She has also participated in group exhibitions in her home province of Québec. Perhaps her finest creative achievements have come during her years with Les Ateliers du Carnaval, the company commissioned to produce floats for the internationally celebrated Québec Winter Carnival.

Her first visit to Ireland was in 1996, but she returned in 2001 after completing the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage in northern Spain. This second trip was intended to be a brief sojourn before returning home, however, life decided otherwise and she is now in the process of obtaining Irish Citizenship.

Presently, Amélie enjoys living and working in Killarney, Co. Kerry, where she is also exhibiting her work. She also teaches arts & crafts to adults with special needs for the Kerry Education Service, and nights classes at the local Community College.

Artist Statement

"My work is simply a personal exploration of colour and texture, and of light and shadows. The board is covered with a layer of black paint, and the colours are then added by thin layers, literally rubbed onto the surface to allow the irregularities of the board to show through, thus giving the
